MAC Holiday

A LADY & HER TRICKS, BUFF & LINE COLLECTION

I went to MAC yesterday to pick up the 138 Tapered Brush and The Silver Dusk Powder, and some more Myth Lipstick and I picked up this brush kit.  I have to say I really like it.  These only come out at Christmas time and people wait all year for these collections to come out.  I really have to say it's definately worth your money.  Brushes can be really expensive and if you are just starting out or need brushes for travel I think these are great.  I would have to say I prefer having the longer handles but these come in really handy.  I think the over all actual bristle parts of the brush might be a bit smaller as well.  Except for the pencil brush the bristles are exactly the same.  But I'm not sure about the others because I don't already have any of them.  I also picked up the 138 (photo below)  LOVE this brush.  It was super expensive I believe $52.00 but with my 40% discount it was $31.00 but it will last forever if you take care of them correctly.  Brushes are an investment that is so worth it.

Also I picked up two irredescent powders.  I went in the get Silver Dusk but I couldn't resist getting the Golden Bronze one as well.  I've been reading more people use Silver Dusk in the Winter use Golden Bronze in the summer which I can agree with because I just don't look tan enough to wear the Golden Bronze.  But they both are GORGEOUS!!  Perfect for highlighting the cheek bones and chest area or wherever you need a highlight.

Oh and the MOST IMPORTANT purchase was the Fast Response Eye Cream.

I hear this stuff is AMAZING and does amazing things for puffiness because of the caffeine and has other uses as well.  I will hope that it lives up to its good name.

KISS - HALLOWEEN TIME!!

I love Halloween its one of my favorite times of the year.  I love dressing up with crazy makeup and helping the kids pick out their costumes and makeup.  They both decided to be Gene Simmons from KISS today for their Halloween Party at school.  Hopefully they don't scare any of the younger kids....

SEPTEMBER FAVORITES

Well so far its off to a great start with some new products that I am enjoying so much.  First off is my new Este Lauder Double Wear foundation.  I love this foundation it has great full coverage and you don't need alot, a little really does go a long way and unlike some other long wear foundations its easy to blend and once it dries, it has like a smooth almost powdery finish.  You really don't need to use a powder with this to set it, but I do use the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural so it isn't so Matte.  But don't get me wrong my favorite kind of foundations are ones that have a matte finish.
    
Ok next is my Chi 44 iron guard and serum.  I love the way it makes me hair feel, It feels healthy full of body and really soft.  I think this is probably going to be a holy grail item.  I used the Paul Mitchell serum for the past couple years so I guess it's time to make a change. 

     My new favorite eyebrow product is MAC's paintpot in Quite Natural, I love it.

     I also just purchased a new perfume that I really love.  Its I'ssey Miyake and it smells so fresh and good and I think it's the perfect fall/ winter perfume, but I was kind of surprised at the price, it was $92.00 it seems like it was a bit pricey I was expecting like $60.00 to $79.00. 

EYELINER COMPARISON REVIEW

Top: Loreal Extra Intense Pencil eyeliner $8.49

Middle: Stila Eye Kajal in Onyx $18.00

Bottom: MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder $14.50

Ok so here's the deal I swatched these and then about an hour later I swiped my finger across them to see how the smudging was.  I have to say as far as staying power on the skin the Loreal definately beat out the other two.  You don't need to use a black eyeshadow over the top like you would the other two if you were putting them on your skin.  I really had to work hard to rub it off with my finger and didn't completely come off until I washed my hands really well.  As far as the water line I would definately say in my opinion the Stila Eye Kajal beat out the other two it stays on my water line for the majority of the day still looking intense.  I think as far as the consistency I would say MAC won over the others because the product itself is not as soft as the other two but glides on really easy.  Stila is the softest in my opinion and doesn't work that well for me lining the top lash line it smudges to much but my favorite as far as the waterline.

Here's my conclusion

1. STILA Pro: Best for Waterline Con: Smudges to much for Top lash line/PRICE

2. LOREAL Pro:  Doesn't smudge stays on all day GREAT price Con: really hard to wash off

3.  MAC Pro:  Perfect in between eye pencil /price in between as well Con: NONE

So here you go depending on what you are looking for All are very intense black eyeliners all are great at different things.

BENEFIT LIP PLUMP REVIEW

I've been using Benefit Lip plump alot lately, not really for plumping my lips but to nude out the lips adding lipliner and lipgloss to make a really nice look.  I am going to post pictures of before, at 5 minutes, at 10 minutes and at 20 minutes.  I'll let you be the judge.  In my opinion it tingles just a little tiny bit maybe just a little cool feeling but not as much as I've heard from other reviews, maybe it just doesn't work on my lips or they aren't as sensitive, but from the pictures it looks to me like they look a little bigger because nude mouths usually gives a more plump appearance and the sheen that it gives around the lip also illuminates them.  As far as making them more plump I guess it would depend from person to person.  But as for me I can see a little difference but I mainly like it for the nude look.  But at @ $22.00 I could probably stick with Myth Lipstick from MAC for $14, and highlight around the edges with a highlighting powder or eyeshadow.

BEACHY MAKEUP

My very favorite time of year is the SUMMER.  I love backyard barbeques, chilled drinks, Coronas with Lime and BBQ Chicken and Cheeseburgers.  I love going to the river and watching my kids play in the water and seeing them get so brown. :)  And I especially love waking up with the sun coming in from the blinds it also puts a smile on my face knowing its going to be a bright sunny day.  Here is beachy makeup video.  Enjoy

DUPE FOR BLANKETY BY MAC

Here is a DUPE for MAC's BLANKETY LIPSTICK. It's THALIA from NYX. The only place I've seen NYX products around where I live is at ULTA. You could probably order online as well. Its a tiny bit darker but very very close in color.

Hey so it's Sunday, I love Sundays.. there's nothing like relaxing and enjoying your family and being lazy. Well here are a couple looks I did yesterday for my boyfriends daughter and her friend, they were going to an all school dance, and wanted a fun look. So here it is....

DRIVE

What is Drive? Drive is not something that is given to you or something that's passed down. It comes from things that are withheld from you. It's from not being satisfied with something that you want but you can't or don't have control over. When you are a kid you have no control over what kind of life is given to you. Until you are old enought to make decisions on your own, you have no control. In those situations when you are in school you have control over what kind of grades you get because you have the drive to do so, you have control over that when you have no control over anything else. You get drive when you are fed up with the way things are. You get fed up with the way you look and only you can create the drive to change that. You are so tired of feeling out of control and are tired of feeling this way and you are driven to work out everyday and you are driven to eat better. You don't like your situation at work and you are driven to work harder and show everyone around you that you are willing to do whatever it takes to make that promotion or earn another dollar an hour. You grow up not having what you want because you have no control over how little money your family has so your are driven to when you finally have control you are driven to never be without what you want or need. You are driven to be the best at a sport, you want to prove to everyone that you are better and you are driven to work hard everyday to prove yourself. You can not be given drive it has to from within and you have to want something so badly to be driven. It cannot be given to you or passed down.

VALENTINE'S DAY

Okayyy so V Day is almost here... This day is all about love and being with your sweetie, it's a day to celebrate how much you love your sweet heart.. So with womens expectations I think this is more of a day for us. I think alot of men on this day feel alot of pressure from their girlfriends and wifes cause unfortunately, we expect alot on this day. Wether it's flowers, chocolates, diamonds or whatever your hearts may desire I hope that your heart is fulfilled on this very special day.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Well it's a New Year and it's time to start all over, to make this year better than the last. My New Years resolution is to appreciate all my friends and family, appreciate the little things and to post on here alot more often. I haven't posted anything since November :(. But with the Holidays and Time off from work I should have.. Just enjoyed my time relaxing and not worrying about ANYTHING. So I'm well rested to start 2010!! Also I said I would do a review on the Borghese Brushes on Costco and after using them for a couple months I absolutely love them. Every single one of them I use on a daily basis. The quality is absolutely wonderful they are so soft and the blending brush works really well. I can't say enough how much I like them. If you are at Costco and they still have them buy them!!
